Back to school, or maybe not
So, today was the first day back to work. It should come as no surprise to anyone who works for any big company/school/corporation, that no one knows where my job is going to be yet. I’ve been told not to worry, I have a job, they just don’t know where yet.
Given the current numbers, there isn’t a need for me at the junior high, but everyone thinks those numbers are going to go up. I’ve also been told that two paraeducators from the TCAP program aren’t coming back this year. Since TCAP is housed at the junior high, it’s likely that they will need help. There is also no paraeducator at the Freshman Academy, which is also attached to the junior high. I am 99% sure they’re going to need some help, especially if one particular behavioral problem returns to the district.
It just sucks really hard that I am going to go to work on Monday and have no clue what I’m supposed to do after morning duty. I suppose I could be pissed at the elementary schools for not properly identifying students as they should, but, from what I’m told, the test scores bear out the fact that the junior high numbers will rise. I guess I’ll have to wait until Monday to find out. It’s going to be a long four days until then.
