Pastor Steven Anderson of the Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, Arizona let’s us know that the church is still full of misogynistic assholes.

There’s so much bullshit in here that it’s hilarious. I encourage everyone to watch the whole damned thing. This is what they’re preaching in churches folks. They still hate women. The entire video talks about the oppression of women and how it’s completely acceptable today, at least according to this pastor.

At 36:12, Pastor Anderson says that he got rid of the TV when he got married. His wife didn’t know what to do with her time so he told her, “Just cook me three awesome meals a day. Just really hit it out of the park.” She made him pancakes in bed. She paid the bills. She did all the cooking and cleaning and he made her volunteer at the church and a soup kitchen. I guess it was okay for her to work just as long as she didn’t get paid for it.

All I can think of is how sorry I feel for his poor wife, being so duped into this sort of life. He even hints that, if he had a camera system, he’d spy on his wife when he’s out of town to make sure she’s not idle. But, he claims that he “trusts” her to cook what she wants so she has lots of freedom. What a dick!

According to the Bible, the best attribute of a woman is that she isn’t idle. She needs to spend hours cooking, making clothes, and taking care of her family. In between all this, a woman should be home-schooling her kids because taking them to public school is the work of the devil.

At 44:15 Pastor Anderson talks about how listening to women that talk back and/or argue with you is the same as Chinese water torture. He says that he’d rather be given, “that water dripping thing,” than listen to a woman.

At 49:20, he says that he doesn’t like the celebrity women because they are independent and the “I can do it all myself” types. He doesn’t want his children emulating these celebrities because he doesn’t “want them to think that is what a woman should strive to be. The Bible says a woman should strive to have a meek and quiet spirit.” Basically, he wants his children to obey him, do as he says, and never think for themselves.

At the 53 minute mark, Pastor Anderson continues to talk about how his wife is intelligent because she is learning the Bible, cooking, cleaning, and doing what he tells her to do. You are in subjection to your husband and the only woman acceptable is one that is meek and mild. He doesn’t want to hear anything about the difficulties of being a woman. He’s a man. He can preach and the woman has to listen.

The family blog that Pastor Anderson’s wife keeps shows she’s quite the nutter herself. I’m not so sure I should feel sorry for her or not. She’s obviously not intelligent if she believes all the quackery that she posts.
