Disgusting reactions to Japanese earthquake and tsunami

March 12th, 2011 No comments

I was reading PZ Myers blog this morning, in which his latest post is entitled, I hope these people aren’t your friends. I can assure you, I would never have friends such as those that have spewed forth the uncalled for hatred and vitriol towards Japan. PZ Myers’ facebook page was filled with many posts about how the earthquake and tsunami were a form of payback for Pearl Harbor. I concur that these people not only make me feel embarrassed to be an American, but embarrassed to be a human being.

The picture below is a compilation of just a few of the idiot messages that PZ Meyers collected.

From the profile pictures of most of these people, they weren’t alive during WWII. They are completely uneducated, particularly when it comes to history. They have no idea that Japan was hit with two atomic bombs. They know nothing of the Tokyo firebombings. They probably also do not understand that, after the war, we became allies with Japan and have been allies ever since.

No, I could never be friends with people like this, Mr. Meyers. My friends are better educated and have much more compassion for human suffering.

If this doesn’t make you want to donate to help the people in Haiti, then you’re a cold-hearted bastard

A woman was rescued after six days, buried under the rubble, thanks to his unwavering love and desire to find her.

My choice for a donation would be DirectRelief International. One of my favorite sites on the internet, reddit, has partnered with them. Go give a couple of bucks now.
