We have finally arrived in Scottsbluff. We actually got here a day earlier than we planned so we got here in the late afternoon of July 31st. We got set up the best we could with the computer on the floor in the living room and blankets and pillows set up so we can watch TV on the floor of the living room. This situation was only supposed to last until yesterday (6th) when North American Van Lines were supposed to show up with our possessions.
Yesterday morning, I called the company to ask what time my things would arrive and was informed that our things are still in the warehouse in Poughkeepsie! Not surprisingly, we are not very happy with this situation. If I had known that the stuff was going to be late, we would have delayed driving all the way out here so soon. Right now, it looks like we are going to be stuck on the floor for another week. It would have been nice if North American had called in advance to let us known that they were going to be late, but instead we hear nothing. They have offered us $500 for clothes and food and that is something that we intend to take advantage of as much as possible.
On the plus side, it looks like Irene may have a job working as a Teaching Assistant for the school district. The extra money will definitely help out. Also, since we have have a swimming pool at the back of the townhouse, I have been using that every day since we moved here. I love to swim
