I have just had two weeks off school and today was the first day of classes following Christmas break. The first semester went pretty fast as did the Christmas vacation. So far, I have enjoyed my time here. The school is much friendlier than Arlington, proof of which comes from the Christmas Party the high school Principal (my boss) held for all of us on the last day of last semester. The kids here are also so much better behaved.

On Friday, we are supposed to have grades done. The good news is that my grades were done last Friday, which was a teacher work day (no students). Everything here is more laid back than in Arlington, where grades were due the same day as the end of the quarter, which made things very difficult for the teacher. Here, I have time to do my grades, check for mistakes, and finish my comments. With all of that done, I can now look forward to the new semester.
