Jatropha is widely spread throughout the world and is used in the treatment of syphillis, ulcers, dysentery, ringworm, scabies, ghonnorrea, burns, cancer, and bee and wasp stings. Its seed contains oil that can be used to make candles. The oil is also currently being used in India and Mali as a fuel substitute for gasoline.
